As a too many things going on in the book, the author try to gave too much info (sometimes I feel in the middle of a hystory class). That stop me from follow the story with interest. Good that each characters had differents names. Is something usual, in terrorist plots.
The mix of places, different plots and too many characters looks like a revolving doors, is something that the Barret needs to still master.
Grammar errors...needs a good proofreading. It took me too long to finished the book because I was distracted with this.
Too many roads that ends nowhere. A stong woman in charge and ends like a "girly in distress", come on, women are more strong than that.
I'm very honest with my Reviews, not only for me, the author or other readers, how an author know when did something good or need improvement?
How another reader believe in my review? If I didn't read the book, I don't Review. If the book is good, Review. If the book isn't good, Review.
With that we all benefit, readers, authors & readers searching for something new or special.
That will make me gave 3 stars to the book.

I enjoyed the book. The plot had more than enough twists and turns to keep the story interesting. I don't like books that are too predictable, this was not predictable.
I only have 2 complaints, there were a couple of spots where the book dragged just a little bit (too much geographical detail) and the overuse of ATC jargon at the beginning which left me a little lost, but I just ignored it.
Overall, a good book with a good plot and suspenseful!
I thought this book had the makings of a great book, that didn't quite live up to its potential. There was one big loose end that never was resolved. There was, as other reviewers have commented, way too much detail, given to locations and nothing is very concise. The street chase goes on and on and on. Even when I thought I had reached the end, it wasn't over. This is not to say that the plot was not creative and the end, when it finally arrived, was masterful. With some serious editing and tidying up, I think this could be a great time.
Too much unnecessary local and historical trivia, especially in the Savannah portion. Very confusing naming conventions - several characters had as many as three names and it was really hard to keep track of who was who.
I almost gave up at one point but fought on figuring it would get better. I should have stopped while I was ahead. There were endless gratuitously graphic fight scenes and the chase through Savannah took so long I almost forgot what the book was supposed to be about.
And then the ending. What a flop.
This is an entirely decent action thriller. I especially liked the ATC and airplane accident investigation aspects, very informative. I didn't care as much for IRA angle. As an American I just get lost in all the Irish drama. I can't keep track of all the fighting and killing between various factions. It's like being back in Memphis.
I also had a couple dings on the tradecraft aspect, though nothing that's a show stopper. Sending texts in the clear, mentioning names on unencrypted phones, even burners, is a Bozo No-No. Like I said, pretty minor. Let the little stuff slide and enjoy the ride.
When NTSB investigator Jake Pendleton is sent from Atlanta to investigate an air crash, what looked at first like a run-of-the-mill mishap turns out to be anything but. When more people start turning up dead, Jake realizes that there is a vicious killer on the loose, and Jake just might be his next target. When he suggests boss that the crash might not have been an accident after all, he’s rebuffed. With the help of an unconventional air traffic controller, Jake undertakes his own investigation, uncovering deception and intrigue on an international level, and putting himself and those around him in mortal danger.
The Savannah Project by Chuck Barrett is a thriller that will keep you intrigued from start to finish. Light, thankfully, on the technical aspects, it focuses on the personal motivations of the characters, and the action when opposing forces meet. The ending will take your breath away.
This is the first book in a planned series, and I’ll be watching for sequels.
I ordered this book for my husband after he went through all the books written by Vince Flynn, Brad Thor, Ben Coes, Lee Childs etc. I hoped I would be able to find more thriller books for him. and I think we have found a winner in Chuck Barrett books. He's on the second one now "Toy Maker".
