I have read the Baltimore and Cincinnati series and loved the characters and the storylines. This new series has started with yet another terrific read. As the two main characters, Daisy and Gideon are both complex, had difficult childhoods, function surprisingly well in their jobs and volunteer work and deserve to be loved and be happy. Except for the murderer and his stepmother, I like all the other characters in this book. I do remember Daisy’s father and Special Agent Joseph Carter from previous books...so that’s cool. The cult in this book is unnerving, horrifying and hopefully will have the leaders brought to justice (or slaughtered) in the next book.

I love her stories. So riveting chapter after chapter. Hate for the story to end. Always look forward to her next book.
Awesome book. Karen Rose has done it again, she has written an amazing story.
I've read all Ms Roses series and loved them all. This new series promises to be one of her best yet. I can't wait for the next book.
This book reminded me of “In Cold Blood” and of “Crime and Punishment” by revealing the view of a killer. It was suspenseful, and this story brought out a lot of family issues, lies, and mistakes that caused people to have such difficult lives.
Its an interesting read, switching between perspectives. There is ROMANCE.... a few scenes, but the way everything ties together in the end is satisfying and hopeful.
Good read, probably for older teens and up.
Having read EVERY Karen Rose book she has ever written, I can honestly say that this is one of her all time best. I can't wait to see how this series progresses!
This first book of Sacramento Series surprised me in a very good way. I love the relationship between Daisy and Gideon. It was very romantic. Daisy's characteristics was very likable,too. I don't care much for too confident and selfish heroines and I'm so glad that Daisy was not anything like that at all. Look forward to the next one of this series.
