This is a short story with no ending. The worst kind of cliff-hanger. It is wonderfully written. It is so funny and insightful! I was all set for a 5 star rating and then it stops. It does not end mind you, it just stops in the middle of an important scene. This is a first episode of a serial, which is fine if the author makes it clear what you are getting into. So it lost 2 stars for me when the story turns out to be only the first act and the author doesn't clue us in on how many parts we will have to buy to finally get a satisfactory ending. Am I going to be reading a trilogy? Is this a 5 part story-line? Or are there 22 episodes to this and I will end up paying more than a NY Times Best Seller costs by the time we see "The End."I really enjoyed this author's work and skill in storytelling but I won't be buying anything else until this is finally completed and sold as a normal size book. I hate teasers when they aren't clearly labeled TEASER.

This book is a fun lighthearted read that takes science fiction to a new alcove of the mind. The author explores the human disposition in a highly creative fashion in which any reader is able to understand and appreciate. Highly recommended read!
Funny, insightful, and very human.
This is a good character-based prelude to what might shape up to be a decent sci-fi epic. Written in an easygoing style with plenty of knowing pop-culture references and wry details within the characters' inner monologues. It really ends just as its getting good, I hope the next chapter's not too far behind.
This short story is interesting and slightly mind-boggling, especially at the end. The read is short but surprisingly deep.
This was a totally out of my realm of understanding. As far as I could figure it was like a hippie trying to explain something and not understanding what it was he was trying to explain.
This is about an alien that comes down to earth in the form of a boring cube-dweller single dad. 'Hal' completely forgets his history as an alien, and as far as he remembers he's always been human. He and his daughter Maggie have the typical father/teenage daughter relationship, but with such a short story it isn't really developed.
There's supposed to be a sequel to this, where Maggie's mother returns. Can't wait to read it!
