The first two were awesome but this one was just lacking. I couldn't read it, I skimmed most of it because it was that boring.

Moonlight Mayhem Spellbound Sherry Soule 9780615665658 Books Reviews

*May contain spoilers from previous book*

I received a copy from the author.

Shiloh Ravenwolf's problems are far from over, but she's the protector of Whispering Pines, a town that's a hotspot for paranormal activity, and should expect them. She saves James McMillian, a guy on the varsity football team, when he stumbles into Luna Pizza, and appears to have been attacked.

Shiloh's scar tingles and burns, which lets her know that whatever happened definitely involves something supernatural. When she starts to head to the Ravenhearst Manor with her best friend, Ariana, a big beast is in the road and they barely miss it.

The attacks increase, but seem to only target the football team. The local policeman claim that its rabid dogs, but her mentor Evans think it's lycans that are attacking the team. When Shiloh becomes witness to an attack, she became high up on the supernatural hit list.

With all of these going on, Trent starts to become closer to Shiloh. When he becomes angry, his eyes turn black and this frightens Shiloh. She has been tainted with demon's blood, and she thinks Trent has too.

Shiloh has many things to worry about, and has a guy with piercing eyes following her at odd times. She'll have to team with the most unlikely people to help the town that she is prophesized to help
Lives will be lost for this cause. Will Shiloh solve the mystery behind all the attacks before it's too late?

I liked this one more than the first book. I love all of the different paranormal creatures that are brought into this book, which makes this series have a slight Buffy-esque vibe to it. I had suspicions of what was happening. I was right on some things but not everything. I'm definitely interested to see what the new guys will play in the next book.

I definitely enjoyed Trent a lot more in this book than the others. I wished that Jillian, Shiloh's mom, was more in the book. I don't like her, but I want there to be some kind of closure with Shiloh even if it's not good. There are so many things I'm still wondering about, but I love that the main aspects of the book are resolved before the next book starts. The ending isn't too much of a cliffhanger, but I'm definitely intrigued to find out what happens next.

Spoilers

Moonlight Mayhem is the third book in the Spellbound Series by Sherry Soule. I read the series before it was revised. I am rereading them, now that they have been revamped, and it is like discovering a whole new story, with subplots accompanied with more character development. Moonlight Mayhem gives the opportunity to wrap yourself up in the characters. It is like returning to catch up with old friends. Soule has a gift for making you feel you are right there in the midst of the action. I truly enjoy books/authors that are able to accomplish that.

Shiloh Her heart hurts in Moonlight Mayhem. She and Trent are taking a break although he doesn’t realize it is due to his lack of faith in her. Shiloh struggled a great deal with how to proceed with Trent. She needs him to believe in her. Until he does, she keeps him at arm’s length.

When Shiloh’s father is killed, she feels broken. She feels alone, abandoned. It is so unfair that she loses the one parent who believed in her. She desperately needs a purpose as his death is suspect. She finds it as she notices a raven shows up consistently. Shiloh feels something is watching, waiting……and she is intent on figuring out all about the 13th daughter prophecy. She finds out more family secrets.

The girl is into clothes but not enough to be annoying. Shiloh stands up to a few female bullies at school; It is one of her best moments in the book. I hate that crap and I am always happy to see a lead character step up for others. Her mom has left her alone as usual. This time around, Shiloh seems to be handling things well on her own.

Trent He is not happy either. He misses Shiloh; He is determined to get back with her. He tries everything he can think of but she’s not having it. It takes him a while to figure out what Shiloh needs from him. His vulnerability is endearing. Once he understands and accepts Shiloh for who she is – the make-up scenes are too hot to handle! lol. I sighed in relief to have them both back on the same page. Of course, his French endearments are swoon-worthy. Trent transfers to Shiloh’s school to be closer.

They need one another. They are broken people who need each other. Shiloh truly learns about love through Trent. He accepts her for who she is; there is power in that. They are stronger together than apart.

I have to say this about Trent get some better manners boy. You should not be outside honking for your girl. It is not cool!

After Shiloh’s father dies, Trent’s dad and Shiloh’s mom start dating. It is gross! They won’t even stop to make sure their own children are doing well. They are both incredibly selfish parents.

I noticed a couple of editing mistakes. I think every book has them. Overall, I have enjoyed this series immensely. Soule has the ability to make you feel invested in her characters. While reading Moonlight Mayhem, I am transported to their world. I am able to forget my troubles/reality. That is the sign of a good author.

Moonlight Mayhem appeals most to women and young adults.
I am not even sure I can convey how much I love Sherry Soule and this series. These are young adult paranormal stories that as an adult I could not get enough of.
Shiloh is a great character with a messed up life. She is sixteen and should be enjoying life as a teenager, but has to deal with demons, fairies, and other witches. I felt sorry for all the hoops she has to jump through just to get through a day in her life. She also has the most amazing friends a teenager can ask for. Trent and Ari have her back at every turn and her mentor, Evans, supports her more than anyone else.
The relationship between Trent and Shiloh is steamy, especially for being such young love. There were times that I wish (as a mother) they had more adult supervision, it may have saved some of the fighting, but they were definitely more mature than their age. I also wish that Shiloh had stood up for herself a little more with Trent. All he had to do was kiss her or touch her and she melted and went along with whatever he was suggesting. Maybe that is a teenage girl thing.
I started with book one and have anxiously been waiting for each of the other books to be released. They play like a movie in my mind, with the great descriptions of the characters and the scenery. I cannot recommend this series enough… start with book one and read the entire series and you will not be disappointed.
The first two were awesome but this one was just lacking. I couldn't read it, I skimmed most of it because it was that boring.
